What Is Forensic Science?

Forensic Science is the application of scientific principles and procedures to legal contexts. It is our goal to train students in being able to apply their scientific training in all forensic contexts.

About Forensic Science at Laurentian University

Forensic Science at Laurentian University started as the Forensic Biology Option in the Department of Biology from 1998 to 2004. In March of 2004 the Laurentian University Senate passed the creation of the new and independent Department of Forensic Science. This Department has its own resources, faculty, support staff and research. Our faculty consists of forensic practitioners who bring their knowledge of forensic science directly to the classroom and teaching laboratory.
