Dr. James Watterson holds a B.Sc. in chemistry from McGill University and a M.Sc. and Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from the University of Toronto. He worked as a Forensic Toxicologist at the Centre of Forensic Sciences in Toronto, Ontario for approximately 3 years, where he was responsible for the toxicological analysis and interpretation of evidence in both criminal casework and coroner’s death investigations, as well as client group education on matters pertaining to drug investigation, drug-facilitated sexual assault and the theory and operation of instrumentation for breath-alcohol analysis. Dr. Watterson is now Assistant Professor in the Department of Forensic Science at Laurentian University.

Current Research Interests:

Research interests focus on forensic toxicology, with specific interests in the toxicological analysis of drugs and poisons in skeletal tissues in a forensic context.
